Capilano Mountain Northern Aspect # 10943

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2006.05.13
Vantage Point: From just west of the summit of Chanter/Downing Peak.

Caption: The northern slopes of Capilano Mountain. The trail to the summit from Beth Lake comes in from the right on the other side of the cliff band. The summit is the small triangular feature nearly hidden by a sub summit and The Lions are rear left.

PhotoDescr: Mick Range and I headed up Furry Creek FSR after reading about Robin T's trip into the area. Taking a different route, we ascended Chanter Ridge at its west end and made our way eastward to the high point, enjoying good views of the Mountain Lake area peaks.

From the summit/east peak col we descended back into the valley passing through significant avalanche debris (many snapped trees).
