Grand Teton - Aerial # 10537

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 1966.02.10
Vantage Point: From the air to NE

Caption: A excellent aerial view of The Grand Teton. The peak right of the main peak is known as Mount Owen, and Middle Teton is left of the main peak and South Teton is left of that.

PhotoDescr: Wyoming's Grand Teton rises almost 7,000 feet above snow-covered Jenny Lake. The U-shaped valley of Cascade Creek to the right of Grand Teton once was occupied by a glacier. Got permission to use photos from Louis J. Maher from his aerial photographs he uses in courses to teach geology. They are from the 60's but not much changes in the mountains in that short a time, except localized events such as avalanches, serac/glacier collapse, etc.
