Cairn with Antlers at Jonas Pass # 10069

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2007.07.21
Vantage Point: From Jonas Pass Trail

Caption: The antlers are shed by elk and caribou.

PhotoDescr: This view southeast from Jonas Pass takes in the valley of Four Point Creek. The peaks at the far end are across the Brazeau River in White Goat Wilderness, south of the Jasper National Park boundary. They are nameless.

The Jonas Pass area is woodland caribou habitat, but we didn't see anything larger than a couple of marmots. Because of the caribou, dogs are prohibited on the Jonas Pass Trail.

The photo was taken on the second day of a three-day backpack/dayhike club trip by three members of the Grant MacEwan Mountain Club.
