Queen Bess from the East # 10020

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2007.07.06
Vantage Point: From Majestic south-east peak

Caption: Looking west from the summit of the southeast peak of Majestic Peak to Mount Queen Bess

PhotoDescr: This photo was taken on a 9-day trip to Franklin Arm on Chilko Lake. We attempted a traverse of the headwaters of Nine-Mile and Deschamps Creek but could not get past difficulties on Majestic Peak.

This photo was taken from the summit of the sub-peak of Majestic. Mount Queen Bess is the obvious peak. The Nostetuko River drains off to the right (at one point we could see the lower section of the river which was subjected to a catastrophic moraine-dam failure outburst flood a couple of years ago). On the distant left you can just make out Mount Waddington.
