Vermilion Pass is the point at which Highway 93 crosses the continental divide between Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. It is the border between BC and Alberta, and also between Banff and Kootenay National Parks. From the pass, the Vermilion River flows south into the Kootenay River. To the north, Altrude Creek drains the pass into the Bow River.
