This key pass separates the Hubbard Glacier drainage to the southwest from the Kaskawulsh Glacier drainage to the northeast. It's the prominence saddle between Mount Hubbard and higher Mount Lucania. The glaciated pass area is known as the Kaskawulsh South Fork Headwaters.
