Halfway Pass is located on Champlain Canal that connects Champlain Lake that empties into the Saint Lawrence to the north with the Hudson River drainage to the south. It's a major pass that cuts off the nothern part of the Appalachians from the southern part. Halfway Pass is the prominence saddle between Mount Washington in New Hampshire and Mount Mitchell in North Carolina.
