| This peak is #37 on the Height List for Yukon Territory .Located just 6 km east of the Alaska Yukon border on the south side of the Dusty Glacier. It's an impressive, glaciated peak that overlooks the Lowell Glacier, which was named years earlier.|
Name Notes: Named after John F. Kennedy, the US president who was shot dead with a 29 dollar rifle bought via mail order in 1963 in Dallas. Following the president's assassination, Jim Whittaker guided Bobby Kennedy, the president's younger brother and Attorney-General, to the top of the mountain. At the time, Mount Kennedy was the highest unclimbed peak in North America. Bobby Kennedy was later assassinated during the 1968 presidential campaign. The Lowell glacier was previously named after the US university by the same name.
