Head of Rosewall Creek, NW of Horne Lake, E of Qualicum, Newcastle Land District The Beaufort Range is a group of low but rugged, sedimentary summits stretching between Courtenay and Port Alberni. Mt. Joan is the highest summit. These peaks are all located on privately held forest land making access tricky due to the Byzantine politics required to get a gate key. There are small clusters of alpine terrain above treeline.

Name Notes: Named for Joan Moorehead, a prominent citizen of Port Alberni. Mount Hal 5 kms south is her brother.
