The highest of a group of buttes between Moore Creek and the Chilcotin River, to the east of the Itcha Lake area. There are several other slightly lower buttes just south and southeast of Baldface Mountain, all at least 100m in relief from the plateau. They all appear conical in shape and may be part of the volcanic system which produced Itcha and Ulgatcho Mountains in the same area.
