Recheshnoi - South Aspect
This dormant stratovolcano is the second highest mountain on Umnak Island, which is part of the Aleutian Islands. Multipronged glaciers flow down in every direction from the complex summit. Access is by boat from the community of Fort Glenn to the wide bay between Kshaliuk Point and Cape Ilmalianuk. Hike south-southeast to reach the base of this volcano and ascend the broad and gentle northwest slope to the west ridge. Follow the west ridge to the top.
