Located directly N of Weary Creek Gap at the extreme S end of the Elk Range. Weary Creek Gap can be thought of as the divide between the High Rock Range and the Elk Range.
Name Notes: Named in 1918 after Norman R. McPhail who served as a Corporal with the Canadian Army in World War I. He was only 26 years old when pronounced killed in action on November 6, 1917 while serving with the Canadian Field Artillery. He was buried in a military cemetary in Belgium. Before the war, he was employed by the Surveyor General.
