This peak is #3 in Prominence List for Alaska .Mount Blackburn is a high, glacier-covered, but easy-to-climb Alaskan Peak located in the Wrangell Mountains. The North Ramp offers a superb ski route to the summit but requires route finding around crevasses.

Name Notes: Named in 1885 by Lt. Henry T. Allen of the U.S. Army after Joseph Clay Stiles Blackburn who was a U.S. senator from Kentucky.
