This peak is #21 on the Height List for Washington . This peak is #15 in Prominence List for Washington .A very prominent 9000 foot summit, located east of the south end of Ross Lake, in the North Cascades of Washington State. It is higher than anything in the vicinity, which means that it can be spotted from nearly every other major peak in the North Cascades. It is a notoriously difficult peak to access and climb, requiring a long 2 day or 3 day trip at minimum. The easiest route is the south face, but even this involves steep loose gullies, cliffs, and snowfields. It has also been climbed from the north. An alternate approach would be from the Jerry Lakes area north of Crater Mountain (using the Crater Mountain Trail), which would give access to the south side from the east. This is a longer approach, but much less difficult than the steep loose ridge traverse over Little Jack, on the south side.
