The highest summit of the southern Marble Range, i.e. south of the Kelly Lake-Pavilion Mtn Road and BCR line. Pavilion Mountain is the location of a fire lookout and is accessible via a fairly easy road from the summit of the Pavilion Mtn Rd. The area is known for beautiful wildflowers as well as high swampland - and moose hunting. Cavers should note that this is the upland of the Marble Canyon karst formation and there are many bogs and maybe sinkholes in the rugged country between here and the Great Wall of the canyon a few miles south; exploration may lead to interesting results.
