Pyroclastic Peak
The steep, rotten volcanic peak immediately south on the ridge from Mount Cayley. The Vulcan's Thumb, on Pyroclastic's south ridge, remains unclimbed because of technical difficulties [primarily looseness of rock, not difficulty of technical climbing]. "Pyroclastic" is a geological term referring to hot volcanic ash/rock mixtures, such as those which buried Pompeii.
