|Located northwest of Barn Mountain and east of Dutch Creek in the Kootenay Land District. It straddles the northeast border of the Purcell Wilderness Conservancy. From the map sheet it appears as the northern most peak of a long ridge of peaks that starts at Frying Pan Creek and goes north.
Bivouac follows BC Basemap in placing the official name on the southern of two equally higher summits a few hundred metres apart.|
Approach can be made to Pert Peak using the trail up Dutch Creek. It may be possible to traverse this ridge south to Frying Pan Creek. From there an exit out Frying Pan Creek to Findlay Creek and ultimately the vehicle would be feasible. While up Frying Pan an ascent of Barn Mountain could also be made. This would make for a good trip of a big loop.
To approach the trails up Dutch or Findlay Creeks use the Findlay Creek Forest Service Road that starts at the community of Canal Flats. This road is also used as the standard approach to Whitetail Lake.
