Mount Harvey from North
This peak is found behind Lions Bay and prominently located between Brunswick and the Lions. Harvey's Pup, a huge rock tower, is found on the NW side. The north side is a steep rock face and the south side, an inclined clearcut. This bowl was logged in the 1950's and never replanted. 50 years later, it has yet to regrow anything significant except for alders. However, when snow covered, it makes a good ski run. In Magnesia Meadows, to the east of Harvey on the Howe Sound-Capilano main divide, an emergency shelter is located. Don't get too excited.

1. Harvey - East Ridge A steepish trail leading to the summit. Gain the pass at GR860801 (NAD27 - map 92 G/6 edition 5) from Magnesia Meadows, the Harvey Basin or the Howe Sound Crest Trail. The trail is well marked but steep in places and requires a couple of scramble moves.
2. Harvey - Southeast Face A good snow route. Park on Sunset Drive in Lions Bay at GR831796. Approach using logging road up the Harvey Basin. From the end of the road at GR857797 (NAD27 - map 92 G/6 edition 5) ascend easy snow (35-40 degree) to the Southwest Ridge just below the summit. Continue to summit over steeper snow. A very good ski run. The route is not recommended when snow is gone because of the bush in the clearcut at the head of the Harvey Basin.
