Located on the W side of the Murtle River and 1.6km NE of the N end of Cougar Lake. Geologists believe that Pyramid Mountain was built up gradually beneath a thick ice sheet as magma erupting beneath the ice was chilled and shattered into tiny fragments by cold water and ice. Over the years, these fragments accumulated around the vent to form the mound-shaped structure that charactarizes the peak today. A trail leads to the summit.
