Deserted Peak is a formidible N-S trending fin of rock that occupies a prominent position on the Elaho-Jervis Divide. It appears to be most easily climbed by its south ridge, approaching from east-facing snowfields above Deserted Lake at the head of Deserted River. The W face, NE facelet and N ridge all appear to be more involved climbs, as observed from Peak 7100 which lies 800m north of Deserted Peak.
Deserted Peak may be approached from Mile 48.5 on G-Main in the Elaho Valley by bushwhacking or skiing up Bierman Creek. This approach may be unpleasant once avalanche debris melts out, probably by late spring. Approaches from the west, up Deserted River from Jervis Inlet appear heavily overgrown from disuse.
