Michel Peak is the highest peak in the Quanchus Range which consist of a group of five mountains located in northernmost Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. This area is a near island surrounded by several large lakes which are part of the Nechako reservoir. The most common approach is via floatplane to a BC parks cabin on Fenton Lake southeast of the massif. From the cabin, bushwhack north for about 4 km to the alpine and then hike up the southeast slopes to the summit. Some maps show a trail climbing to the south slopes of Michel Peak from Whitesail Lake to the east, but there is no confirmation that this trail still exists.
