Tsitsutl Peak is the highest point in the Rainbow Range, which is in Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. It's the westernmost of the three massive shield volcanoes that form the Anahim Volcanic Belt, which includes the Rainbow Range, the Ilgachuz, and the Itchas ramnges. These features were formed between 8m ybp and 1m ypb as the crust moved over a mantle hot spot, similar to what is happening in Hawaii today. The volcanoes are younger in the E and older towards the coast.

Name Notes: Tsitsutl means "painted mountain" in the local language.
