Mount Mackenzie From The East
Mount Mackenzie is an easy walk up, but it's hard avoiding all the flowers that cover it from treeline to summit. The views are fine from the flatlands of the Cariboo to the glaciated giants of the Coast Range. Mount Waddington could be seen on the way out, from Crystal Lake at the top of Boyd Pass.

Travel was easy due to the horse trails, but the bugs were trying. Mount MacKenzie is in the Rainbow Range, a group of vividly coloured volcanic hills just behind the coastal ranges of British Columbia, Canada. Access is via the Bella Coola highway, from the roadhead at the top of the infamous 'Hill'. A couple of days hiking each way will get you into Mount MacKenzie.
