Weasel River Valley with Thor Peak
One of several mountains named Thor in Canada, this Thor Peak, on Baffin Island, is the most famous of Canada's mountains named Thor. The huge west face, which overhangs and is over 1100m (3500 feet) high, was the site of many attempts before it was first climbed by an aid route which became Canada's first official Grade VII. Similarily, the Midgaard Serpent route was the first route in Canada to receive a New Wave A5 grading. Mt Thor's west face is arguably still the most difficult big wall anywhere in Canada.

As the wall overhangs continuously, it has also starred in some climbing related stunts, like the (at that time) world's longest free-hanging rappel, and the (at the time) highest BASE jump (since surpassed by the base jump off Great Trango Tower).
