Apex Mountain from the Okanagan Falls FSR
A low "mountain" of the Intermontane Belt in SW BC west and south of Penticton. There is a ski hill nearby by the same name (Apex Mountain Resort). Rock, where exposed in small craglets, is a type of gneiss. A gravel road leads to the open summit but there are some opportunities for open ground rambling if hiking up. The northern bowl of Apex has mining roads and some open adits/shafts. Nearby, Nickel Plate Provincial Park is alleged to have some good bouldering.
