Mount Cayley is the highpoint of an rugged, rotten, volcanic massif located between the Cheakamus and Squamish rivers. The north and east portions of the massif are glaciated with the Powder Mountain icefield to the north. Most ascents are done up the northeast face in the spring when the mountain is covered in hard snow.
