Tuff Puff and Whirlpool Ridge
Located southeast of the south tip of Landslide lake.

Name Notes: At Whirlpool Ridge, Precambrian rock of at least 600 million years old has been forced over rock of the Middle Cambrian and even younger strata, forming a very hard ridge. The North Saskatchewan River runs parallel to the ridge. The river has been able to erode only a narrow part of the ridge. The whirlpool in the river marks the point where the North Saskatchewan changes direction to cut through the ridge. You can see the extension of the ridge on the other side of the river.
