|A well known peak right on the Alaska-BC border, and just west of the Stikine River. It sits at the head of the Mud Glacier (E),which flows right down into the Stikine, and just E of the head col of the Flood Glacier, which flows NE, also to the Stikine. It is east of the Devil's Thumb and south of Mount Ratz.|

The 1947 CAJ has an article on page 30, titled "West of the Stikine" by Robert Craig. On page 39 is a photo of the route of the ascent of Kates Needle. The photo was by R.W.Craig.
They went up the Stikine river to a "River Base Camp" and then a secondary camp on the Flood Glacier.
