Located in Strathcona park, W of N end of Buttle Lake, 2 km south of Mount Cobb. The peak has a relatively flat top, with a huge drop on its southern side to a lake in the Wolf River drainage.

Name Notes: The mountain was named by the Comox Valley Moutaineers in honour of the conservation work of Roderick Haig-Brown. (1908 - 1976), magistrate, writer, avid angler and above all else a man dedicated to conservation in British Columbia. The naming was spearheaded by Ruth Masters of Courtenay. (From Valerie Haig-Brown, his daughter, who climbed it in her 70th year.)

This peak is labelled as 6390 on the 1:50,000 maps and was known by that name for a long time.
