Nebula S1 - South Side
The south peak of Nebula Peak which is on the south side of the Stave Glacier. This south peak is just inside the northwest corner of Golden Ears Provincial Park. This area is usually accessed on skis as part of Misty Icefield traverse or from the head of Shale Creek. The latter approach involves following the long lateral morraine on the southeast side of the creek to its end. Gain the lower basin south of the summit by scrambling up along a side creek. Zig zag east then west to overcome the head wall to reach the upper basin. Scramble up a gully to the base of the west face and then scramble up gullies on the west face to a col on the ridge crest south of the summit. Scramble along the east side of the south ridge along ledges and gullies to the summit. Class 3-4 on good rock.
