Alnus Peak is on the continental divide between Fortress Lake and the Whirlpool river. Its southern slopes are drained by Alnus creek.

Name Notes: Alnus is Latin for "Alder tree". There are presumably lots of alder in Alnus Creek. The peak was named by Arthur O. Wheeler in 1921.
