This peak is #12 on the Height List for Alberta .This is the first peak northeast of the main peak of Mount Lyell (Ernest Peak).
The trim map shows both Ernest and Edward as being the same height (3498m). This is wrong, the peak has been climbed many times and the center one is clearly the highest. Therefore we designate Edward to be a few meters lower.

Name Notes: Originally this was just an unnamed subpeak of Mount Lyell but in 1972 they decided to give all five subpeaks their own name.
