This peak is #11 on the Height List for Nunavut . This peak is #6 in Prominence List for Nunavut .The Devon Ice Cap was first crossed by the legendary RCMP patrol of Inspector A. H. Joy and his Inuit companions. They started from their post at Craig Harbour (on Ellesmere Island), on March 22, 1926, crossed Jones Strait on sea ice, then across the icecap to the post at Dundas Harbour. They then recrossed the icecap from south to north. The Devon Ice Cap has been crossed a few times since by various adventurers, and there have been ice-core drilling camps high on the ice cap for several summers through the past few decades.
