Located W of Mount Toby and S of Mount Lady Grey. It is the southernmost highest peak in the Purcells.

Name Notes: This was A.A. McCoubrey's first ascent in the Purcell Mountains and they reached the summit on August 11. It was named in 1911 by Edward Warren Harnden after Thomas B. Hamill, a mining scout of Welsh descent who came to the area from California in 1883. After arriving he started developing properties across Kootenay Lake and also for the current owners of the Blue Bell Mine. Hamill was murdered by Robert Evan Sproule after Sproule accused Hamill of claim jumping. After many appeals Sproule was ordered hung in Victoria B.C. by Judge Begbie.
