Name Notes: Dublin is the largest city in Ireland. It is located near the midpoint of Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey.
Adopted 1 June 1972 on 82K/2, as submitted by climber Dr. Curt Wagner, Marshall, Minnesota. Named for its central location and commanding view of the Irish Peaks. Dublin is shortened from the Gaelic name Baile Atha Cliath Dubh Lind, meaning "town on the ford of hurdles on the black water" (farmers put wood hurdles in shallow water to help animals across).
