Like other mountains facing the Gulf of Alaska, it's subjected to bad weather. Note that according to the NTS 1:50,000 map, the highest point (4196 m) is about 500 m north of the border. According to the USGS 1:63,360 map the highpoint (13760', 4194 m) is directly on the border.
