This peak is #31 on the Height List for Yukon Territory .McArthur Peak is located on a triangular section of Mount Logan's Catenary Ridge. The first ascent in 1961 was done from the Hubbard Glacier via the north ridge of McArthur. Other routes include climbing up various ridges and couloirs on the south side, from Mount Logan's East Ridge base camp. A secondary peak 2 km east of the main summit is known as McArthur E. McArthur Peak was named for James Joseph McArthur, the Dominion Land Surveyor who made the first ascent of a Canadian peak over 10,000 feet - Mount Stephen in the Rockies, in 1887. In 1917 he became the Canadian Commissioner on the survey to determine the international boundary between Alaska and the Yukon. Map of McArthur Peak
