Mount Rogers from the Rogers Sifton Col
Rogers Peak is the westernmost of the five named peaks that make up the historical Mount Rogers. Note there are more unnamed peaks further west. (See Mountain Notes). Mount Rogers lies at the north end of the Hermit Range, and is the highest. It has an impressive glacier hung north side. Climbing routes have been done on all sides and rang from class 4 to 5.0, with the upper North face being 55 degree ice.

Name Notes: Adopted in 1924, after Major Albert Bowman Rogers, the discoverer of Rogers Pass. It is the highest point of the Mount Rogers massif. This is one of the cases where there are two names for the highest point: Massif name and Peak name. Our standard is to use the historical massif name as the primary name, and the "peak" name as the alternate name. Hence Mount Rogers/Rogers Peak. See Historical Massif Names.

Route Summaries exist for this mountain, but are only available to paid members.
