Trapper Peak from East-Southeast
On the continental divide, 1.5 km NNE of Mt. Baker; 2.5 km WSW of Peyto Peak. There are two summits, the southerly one is an easy plod from the Baker/Trapper Col. The true summit involves a snow ridge.

Name Notes: The name was applied in 1892, supposedly given by W.D. Wilcox to honour his guide, Bill Peyto, a trapper of note. However, unless Wilcox had picked out this lesser summit from Observation Peak in 1895, it is not likely that he had seen it at that point. He would have seen it in 1923 during his ascent of Mt.Baker.
