It is in the Ottertail Range, which lies south of the Ottertail River (Kicking Horse River). The south tower is the highest point of the Mount Goodsir massif. |
Name Notes: Adopted in 1904, after John Goodsir. Named by James Hector in 1858. There were two Goodsir brothers, John Goodsir and H.D.S. Goodsir. John Goodsir was Professor of Anatomy at Edinburgh University where Hector studied. H.D.S. was the surgeon on the Erebus, one of the two ships on the last Franklin Expedition.
