| This peak is #71 on the Height List for British Columbia .Located between Mount Victoria and Wiwaxy Peaks. It is immediately west of Mount Victoria and 2 km northeast of Lake O'Hara. This peak is in the Lake OHara/Lake Louise Group.
Height Notes: BC Basemap shows its height as 3348m which is only 10,984 feet, and short of the magic 11,000' number. (11,000' is 3353m, so it is 5 meters short). However, the old imperial 1:50,000 maps show a single 11,000' contour line, which would suggest the height was 11,050. This is no doubt the source of the height you see in Bill Corbett's 11,000er book. |
Name Notes: Named in 1903 by Samuel E.S. Allen after Emil Huber who was the Swiss Climber who with Carl Sulzer were the first ascenders of Mount Sir Donald in the Selkirk Mountains. Bill Corbett's book on the 11,000ers, says it was named by Walter Wilcox.
