Mount Harkin from the Northwest
Located south of Mount Selkirk and Daer in the Mitchell Range.

Name Notes: It was named in 1923 by Morrison P. Bridgland in honour of James Bernard Harkin, a well repsected conservationist who was the Dominion Commissioner of Parks during the period from 1911 - 1936. Many refer to him as the "Father of the National Parks of Canada". James Bernard Harkin loved the mountains, and believed that there were very real emanations from them which helped one to elevate the mind and soul, while purifying the spirit.
