Lewis Hills: High Point of the Island of Newfoundland
This peak is #28 in Prominence List for Newfoundland and Labrador .Located west of Cornerbrook, and 7 km east of the Gulf of St Lawrence, and between two forks of Deadman's Brook. This peak is the highest point on the island of Newfoundland (not including Labrador). It is located in the Lewis Hills, which resemble a moonscape with boulder fields and sparce vegetation. The flat summit plateau is often shrouded in fog.

Height: The NTS 1:50,000 Topo map 012B16 shows that the height is 811m. Wikipedia has it at 814m.

Name Notes: The official name, as listed in Natural Resources Canada database is "The Cabox" at 48:50:01-58:29:27. It is on map 012B16. On the 1:50K topographic map, the peak is not labelled as Cabox, the only label is "Lewis Hills" which is spread across two high points. According to the map the northernmost peak is the highest.
