Hole in the Mountain Peak from the North
This peak is #25 on the Height List for Nevada . This peak is #10 in Prominence List for Nevada .Hole in the Mountain Peak is a long north-side ridge. South of the summit, there is a horizontal hole in the ridge where you can see clear through to the other side. From the pack trail to the west, the summit is a walk. From the east, it's an easy rock scramble providing you can find the route.

It is the highest point in the East Humboldt Range, a northern extension of the Ruby Mountains (but separated from them by Secret Pass). This range should not be confused with the Humboldt Range or the West Humboldt Range, both of which are located about 150 miles farther west, between Winnemucca and Fallon.
