Located 1 km east of Coquihalla Mountain. Although this was one of the last peaks ascended by C.E. Cairnes during his geologic surveys (see BCM 1998 for Ricker summation of the details) it may have been climbed earlier by prospectors. Jim Kelly's summit was supposedly a popular objective in the boom town years of Coalmont. A large wooden cross on the summit has toppled over. The northwest ridge offers a Class 2 route to the summit. A path along this route has been worn in and has the appearance of a trail.
Name Notes: 2008.10.08: Commonly referred to in the hiking community as Jim Kelly Peak. Named for being at the head of Jim Kelly Creek. Distinguished from another Kelly Peak in Manning Park. A sign on the collapsed wooden cross on the summit refers to this peak as Sonnen Spitze.
