This peak is #50 on the Height List for Colorado .Pyramid Peak is located in the Elk Mountains in central Colorado. Because of the loose rock, it's one of Colorado's most difficult mountains to climb. The standard approach trail starts at the Maroon Lake campground and climbs to a basin below the north face of Pyramid Peak. The standard summit route is the northeast ridge, an exposed and loose Class 4 scramble.
