This peak is #31 on the Height List for Colorado .Capitol Peak is a jagged massif located in Colorado's Elk Mountains. It's considered the toughest of Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks. The standard approach is via a trail that crosses Capitol's north flank. The normal route is the northeast ridge, a scary, exposed, knife-ridge scramble on rock of mixed quality.
