Burnaby Mountain - As Good as it Gets
An urban summit located in the city of Burnaby. The mountain top ridge is occupied by Simon Fraser University which was completed in 1965. The university is named after the explorer, Simon Fraser. Designed by architects Arthur Erickson and Geoffrey Massey, the university was constructed a mere two years after they won the design competition. The university is oriented east-west along the spine of the mountain. The highest point is likely the water tower which also houses a communications centre for BC Hydro. The lower south slopes of the mountain are currently (2005) being developed by SFU to create a new urban community.

Various roads and running/hiking trails provide access to the mountain.
