Nicomen Mountain and Vedder River
A forested peak located on the north side of the Fraser Valley at Nicomen Slough, and on the east side of Norrish Creek. You used to be able to drive almost to the summit via Cyr Creek branch off Norrish mainline, but this road has been completely deactivated at present following severe landsliding caused by poor design of the original roadbed. Access is now via long road hike that takes you to the north side of the summit, which is a short slog from the end of the road.

Name Notes: The Halqemeylem name for Nicomen Mtn is Leq'a:mel. This name, though applied to the mountain, originates as the name of the community across the slough from Deroche and means "level place" (Sto:lo Atlas), where it is also transliterated as Lakalhamen.
