|Mount McDonald has three closed contours, as shown on the 1:50K map, and these are sometimes referred to as the "three summits" of the peak. The southeast peak is shown as being 1 contour higher. On the Trim map, you do not see three closed contours. On the Topo Canada map, the label "Mount McDonald" is mistakenly on the lower northeastern summit. The three summits are:
48.44184,-123.56898 The main summit, with comm towers
48.44414,-123.57434 Labelled as Mount McDonald on topo canada
48.44642,-123.57469 The northeast summit
This is a popular hiking destination, with many trip reports on various sites. On the summit is a huge communications compound, which you can see in detail by zooming in on the Satellite view. (the final detailed photo where you see the tower itself is from an air photo, not satellite).
Mount McDonald is known for wildflowers in April and May, before it gets dried out in summer. There is no water.
